About us and the Costa del Sol Guide

I would like to say we are your normal everyday couple and in many respects we are although some would beg to differ.

I am Nick Stubbs, a British photographer based here on the Costa del Sol and I have been involved with, in love with and studying photography since I was 13 in 1980 (You can work my age out from that)!

My working background is in Finance but could resist the pull of photography no longer and started Pan Photography in London in the 1990´s, and it is still going strong today here in Spain.

I shoot mainly weddings, commercial and stock photography as well as maintaining and writing new websites such as All Things Photography, a help site for new photographers.

I moved to Gran Canaria for a "short break" in 1998 after a few skydiving mishaps and the unfortunate loss of a couple of friends. I only planned on staying for a month but got instantly hooked on the way and pace of life here.

The Canaries is where I met my wife Sonia, a graphic designer, and we both decided to move to the mainland Spain to look for "proper jobs" and to move our business interests here.

We got married on the Costa del Sol in 2003 and now have two children, both born at the Costa del Sol hospital in Marbella and who are both enrolled in Spanish nurseries. We have also bought properties here so we have some experiences in many aspects of living on the Costa del Sol – good and bad.

This site was started as a hobby site for Sonia to become involved with during her second pregnancy and she now researches and writes most of the content. We now intend to cover just about every aspect of living here on the coast so please bear with us as we (she) furiously write more and more content.
