Crocodile Park in Torremolinos

Step back in time to the age of the dinosaur and visit the Crocodile Park in Torremolinos. Located just 15 minutes from the centre of Torremolinos town centre, this Crocodile Park has over 300 amazing specimens on show for you to see.

If you are staying in a hotel in Torremolinos, the Crocodile Park is situated right next door to the Aquapark to the rear of the town.

If you are making your way there by car, then exit the N-340 (A-7) road at junction --- and follow the signs. There is more than adequate free parking there.

Entrance fees range from 9.50 euro for adults to 7.00 euro for children. Children under the age of 4 go free. The park opens daily at 10.00 am and has seasonal closing times throughout the year. These tend to be 5.00pm in the winter months, 6.00pm in the spring and autumn months and 7.00pm in July, August and September.

Throughout the day at the Crocodile Park in Torremolinos there are guided tours, setting off from the --- at 11.30, 1.30 and 3.30. There are also live demonstrations at the different enclosures made by the well trained staff.

The park itself is very well laid out with the look and feel of an African watering hole. From one of the central huts it’s possible to watch the feeding demonstrations, and watch the crocodiles basking on the sandy banks of the lake. In the lake itself you may be able to spot one of the 300 croc’s, some of the up to 5 foot long! And you get to do all this from a vantage point of about 2 metres away!

One of the African styled huts, has a museum inside offering loads of information on the history of the crocodile and the habitat they can now be found in. There is also a quite comprehensive collection of Tribal African tools.

In a separate lake you can view an area for exotic birds and waterfowl, again relevant information is supplied, but some of the ducks really are very pretty!

The nursery area, as its name suggests, allows you to see the baby crocodile and caiman that are regularly bred here. Even though they look cute, remember they can still pack a sharp bite!

Finally in the park, again keeping to the African theme there are the Prairie dogs. These cute, fat little rodents are actually related to the squirrel family and live in massive underground tunnels. There are also racoons, emus and more to see here.

If you are feeling brave, you can even have your photo taken holding a crocodile for a souvenir! There is a gift-shop by the main entrance and also a cafeteria. The food here is quite reasonable and it is possible to find a seat indoors or out.

You leave the Crocodile Park with so much information on these creatures that you can have nothing short of respect for them. It really is an exciting day out for all the family.

The Crocodile Park in Torremolinos is located on Calle Cuba, Torremolinos.
