El Paraiso Golf Course
Located in Benavista between San Pedro and Estepona, El Paraiso Golf Club seems a world away from the hustle and bustle of the Costa del Sol.
The 18 hole par 71 course was designed by Gary Player in 1974 and for over 30 years now has been an exciting course to play for golfers of any level. Found nestling in a valley surrounded by stunning scenery with lakes and tree lined fairways it is easy to see why El Paraiso has remained a firm favourite among the golfing fraternity.
I particularly enjoy the 6th hole, a par 5 dogleg. It requires a certain amount of accuracy to avoid the bunkers and lakes along the fairway, with the green being a two-tiered affair, it really makes you concentrate on your game to get anywhere near a birdie!
The mission statement El Paraiso works to is:
“Our mission is to continually upgrade the golf course, club house and other facilities, for the benefit and enjoyment of the members and visitors, in a sporting, friendly multi-national environment”
