Guadalmina Golf Course

Guadalmina Golf Course

Guadalmina Golf Course is a popular area providing two 18-hole golf courses and one 9-hole practise course. It was founded in the late 50īs and is located just 1 kilometre west of San Pedro de Alcantara on Costa del Sol.

Guadalmina Golf has been described as a golf course with reasonably wide and undulating fairways which sweep through recently developed villas and urbanization's.

Guadalmina Golf Course Sur. This is the first 18-holes of Guadalmina golf's 45 holes in total, it was opened in 1959 and it is the second oldest golf course on the Coast after Parador in Malaga. Guests of the Golf hotel can tee off right outside the hotel, by starting on the 10th and 11th holes of Guadalmina Sur. Then continuing onto the 12th hole where you will need a good and straight drive in order to avoid the private gardens. From the tee position at the 14th, care should be taken as to where you place your ball, between the pine trees, and next to the green is an inviting bunker just waiting to catch you out. Guadalmina Sur Golf course calls for stamina and your "A" game and the 16th and 17th are both far fives.

Guadalmina Golf Course Norte. The North course at Guadalmina was designed by Folco Nardi in 1973, and is considered to be less difficult than Guadalmina south course, even though it is more undulating, covers more terrain, contains more trees and obstacles and has more water hazards. The Guadalmina River winds through the course from north to south and comes into play at the 17th. If this isn't challenging enough, there are more water hazards with lakes at the 7th, 9th 11th and 18th holes.
