The hotels in Torremolinos range from beachside high rise with Arabic and Andalucian styles to those situated in a typical Spanish neighbourhood known for its fish restaurants and easy access.

Torremolinos has long been known for its "boozy" tourist attraction with hen nights and stag parties making the most of its bustling nightlife. Whereas this is still much the case, the town has cleaned up its act and is finding rising popularity amongst families and couples once more.

Most of the hotels in Torremolinos are close to the shops and a short walk to the beaches which play host to a multitude of water sports for the more active.

As I lived nearby in Marbella, I myself have been "dragged kicking and screaming" on a stag weekend (for 30-somethings) in Torremolinos and stayed in a local beach hotel which I can say was very nice and accommodating. Not being a big drinker these days and after having a post 2 pint nap we hit the busy town.

I was impressed with the lively and vibrant atmosphere and even more impressed with the good nature and lack of trouble from most of the party goers. My preconceptions of Torremolinos were maybe a little outdated and unfounded and we had a great weekend. Spain is changing.
