La Dama de Noche Golf Course
La Dama de Noche golf course in Nueva Andalucia was the first European golf club to open 24 hours a day. It is a 2,700 metre, nine-hole, par 36 golf course and as its surface is fairly flat and smooth, your lost balls are easy to find meaning play is quick.
Understandably, most golfers prefer to play during the day, however, the course has an efficient and bright lighting system which allows the insomniacs to play during the night under almost the same conditions as you have in the daytime. The construction and design of this great little course also incorporates the latest in golf technology. For example you have new Bermuda grass on the fairways and Penncross grass on the greens, the lighting which conforms to USA standards, man-made lakes and plants and trees which were raised in the club's own greenhouses.
Although La Dama de Noche Golf Course is comfortable to play on, it is not without its difficulties and a whole range of shots can be played.
La Dama de Noche takes its name from the Spanish plant whose intoxicating and nocturnal fragrance helps to keep some of the mosquitoes away. The lighting system is designed to cast no shadows thus giving daylight quality and maximum visibility.
Having lived very close to this course for a number of years, we played it quite a bit and don't be fooled by the size, it can be very demanding on some holes. It is fantastic if you fancy a quick nine holes as it is generally fast moving and you really can just pay and play.
It is recommended that when playing La Dama de Noche Golf course that you take along your own club membership or handicap certificate. Whilst not always necessary it helps to get on the course quicker.
You can play 9 holes only or a full 18 by playing the course twice, with the second nine slightly cheaper. The course is situated just behind Puerto Banus on the entrance to Golf Valley.
