Santa Clara Golf Club
The 18 hole Santa Clara Golf Course of Marbella is situated a few kilometres east from Marbella town centre and is very contemporary in design using the latest grass types.
It has very wide rolling fairways and very little rough so looks perfectly manicured, yet is still challenging to enthusiasts and professionals alike.
Many of the greens are surrounded by bunkers and there are many water hazards along the fairways. I have played this course once and enjoyed it very much as it has some very tough holes with the occasional "breather" hole where you can re-compose yourself.
The course was host in 2003 to the Annual Spanish Professional Championship which was truly an honour to such a relatively new course (opened in the year 2000).
