Tivoli World in Benalmadena - Located to the rear of Benalmadena, Tivoli World is the closest thing to a theme park here on the Costa del Sol. With rides galore, shows, restaurants and bars it is great fun for all the family to enjoy.
The park has recently had new investment and has had a bit of general re-furbishment throughout so it’s an ideal place to go.
If you care getting to Benalmadena by car you need to exit the N-340 (A-7) at km222, Benalmadena/Arroyo de la Miel junction. Tivoli World so it is very well signposted down the hill and there is ample parking to be found as there are huge free car parks. If you cannot find anywhere to park, stick to the adage ‘if in doubt, don’t’. You don’t want to return to find your car has been towed away!
If you are lucky enough to be staying in one of Benalmadena’s many hotels, then the entrance is to the rear of the town itself.
If you are arriving by RENFE train then the Arroyo de la Miel Station is literally 100 metres from the entrance of Tivoli World in Benalmadena and the Portillo buses pass through Parada Tivoli on their regular routes around Benalmadena and Arroyo de la Miel.
The park and rides are open only on Sundays from 11.00am until 8.00pm. Entrance to the park costs 6 euro if you are 1 metre heigh or above and a ‘Super Tivolino’ ticket costs 10 euro and gives you unlimited rides according to age.
There is also a weekly market garden too on a Sunday open from 11.00am – 1.00pm with a 1 euro entrance fee.
The park is split into different zones and each has a theme with many rides for all. Big rollercoasters snake around various parts of the park, and you cannot help but see the Free-Fall Tower or the Big Wheel.
Tivoliland Plaza is an area dedicated to the smaller members of the family and decorated in a Victorian Style. Here there are gondola rides, merry-go-rounds and carousels, in fact a total of 11 rides that will suit everyone.
Besides these ‘little’ rides, you will find the stomach churning ‘Tivoli Dragon’ rollercoaster with massive loop-de-loops, or the creepy Hall of Terror. The Free=Fall Tower does exactly what you think it does…don’t go on this one straight after lunch!!
There are many shows put on to entertain you, all of which are free. In the Western Square there are country and western shows and can-can dancers. In Andalusian Square the fabulous flamenco dancers are wonderful to watch and in peak season there is the 3000 seater amphitheatre which has free singing and dancing spectaculars daily.
Throughout the different plazas within Tivoli World there is street theatre being performed, story tellers and puppet shows.
Throughout the park there are many different restaurants, cafes and bars offering a wide choice of menu for lunch or tea. Refreshment stalls are everywhere and are very reasonably priced too.
Overall Tivoli World in Benalmadena is about as fun packed a day out as you can have here on the Costa del Sol and is extremely entertaining for everyone young and old alike.
